Hi everyone. I've been getting all sorts cute Christmas cards, you all look fabulous! I'd hate to break it to you, but my Christmas cards are going to be late! We are waiting for the ultrasound and to find the sex of the baby to send our cards on the 19th. Things are still about the same here, I'm still sick, but I've only puked 2 or 3 times and I'm slowly gaining weight. I'm starting to look big, I really can't fit into normal clothes any more! Recently we did venture out of the home and made ginger bread houses with the Olsen's and the Redding's. Even the babies were having a good time!

When we got our "house" home, Milo didn't waste anytime to start munching on it! Every morning little bits our our house is gone.

Things have been a little rough for Ethan since it has been finals week, but he hasn't lost his sense of humor. He wanted me to share this story with you. So the guys often play tricks on each other... So one friend left out his cell phone and Ethan texted to his friends wife... "Honey, I've got a rash down there." (Aren't boys gross) All the guys were cracking up! His wife texted back... What the!!! What are you talking about!!?? Ethan was laughing so hard he had to leave class.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. We love you all.

So I'm just sitting at home sick, while Ethan is speaking at a baptism, so I thought I would have time for a quick update.

So far everything is looking good (well, good enough). I've finally gained 2 lbs. and as long as I take the nausea medicine, I keep my food down. I still feel sick and pretty tired, but I'm able to eat more and a wider variety of foods. So we are now trying crock pot recipes so I don't have too cook when I get home. I still go to sleep at about 7 or 8 and I've done all my Christmas shopping over the internet, so I've officially turned into a hermit. School has been really tiring. I don't have much energy and feel pretty sick by the end of the school day. I'm looking forward to Christmas break and maternity leave.

Ethan has been doing well. He's approaching finals and he feels pretty good about it. When we come back from Christmas he starts his official internship. He's looking forward to the work, but not to the commute to Pomona!

The baby looks good. And speculation has begun as to the sex... You're sick all the time, it's a boy. The heart rate is fast, it's a girl. You're carrying low, it's a boy. All you're weight is being carried in the front, it's a girl. All speculation will cease on the 19th when we find out the sex. We are going to include it on our christmas card, so if you'd like a christmas card please email me or reply in a comment to me with your address.

I hope everyone is doing well. Love you all!

I know everyone has been worried, so quick update. I haven't puked in 4 days. But eating is still hard, I'm trying to eat, but according the my bathroom scale, I'm still losing weight. Hopefully that will change soon. I'm really trying to eat, I promise. Maybe this is why I gained weight before I got pregnant.

So I feel the best early in the morning, so that's why this blog is going out at 6:30 in the morning on a Saturday. This week has been a pretty crazy week, let's go back to Saturday...

I woke up last Saturday early in the morning and noticed that my see's candy bar wrapper was on the floor. Since Ethan has pilfered my chocolate in the past (even my Valentine's day candy) I thought he ate it. When I joked with him later about it eating more of my candy, he said he didn't do it, then we realized Lola ate it. If you didn't know chocolate is bad for dogs. Well, Lola was acting normal, so we thought she was ok, until Sat night when she started shaking. We did some research on the web and found out that the amt of chocolate she ate was not lethal, but would make her sick for up to 36 hours. She's fine now, but it was scary at the time.

Next crazy moment came on Wed when I was driving to school in the morning and out of no where I puked up the RED juice I had that morning for breakfast all over my new skirt. I stopped at a grocery store and tried to clean myself and the car as best as I could. Then I went to school stained and smelling like puke. It was a great day Oh, and I puked on the drive home too. Fabulous.

Ethan had a test this week, and let's just say one of the study sessions he missed wasn't too productive... I know they took study breaks, but this one is ridiculous Enjoy this you tube video

Next crazy moment... losing things (like my mind). On Thursday I wanted to pick up some food on my way home from school, so I look in my bag and no wallet. UGH Lost wallet, I hate that. All the sudden I start thinking about where could my wallet be? A student took it? Lost in the car? At home? After searching everywhere and not finding it, I was pretty stressed. Then I realized the other day I stopped at Boston Market, I called and they had my wallet. Luckily nothing was taken. I hate that feeling when you lose your wallet. What's even worse it what I lost next. After I finally calmed down about my wallet I looked down and realized my wedding ring was gone. GREAT I've lost enough weight that now my ring is really loose. I started bawling. Finding a wallet is one thing, but a tiny expensive symbol of our love. Was it in the car, school, the house, parking lot? Who knows when it could have fallen off. Ugh, I felt 10 times worse. I called Ethan in a panic . Eventually I found my ring, it slipped right off my finger into my school bag.

Last crazy story of the week . . . Friday morning, I woke up and was playing with Lola and felt a big lump on her back . Ethan and I got concerned, especially since the whole chocolate episode. So off to the vet, she had a fever and the vet thought she could have an infection, so she got a shot and we have to feed her antibiotics for the next few days and hope it goes away.

So that was our week, hopefully it doesn't continue. Pretty crazy, fortunately nothing bad happened.

Love you all.

Hi everyone.

I thought I would update everyone on how we are doing. I recently went to the doctor and the good news is the baby looks great. We actually laughed because the baby was moving around so much. It looked like a little jumping bean. I guess there's a party in the womb, and our baby is rockin' out. Unfortunately it is still hard for me to eat and if I eat a large amount (like a slice of pizza) I usually throw it up. So needless to say I've been losing weight, which concerned the doctor. So here's the deal, if in the next two weeks I don't keep down food and gain weight, they want me to go on bed rest. Bummer! Even better news... (sarcastic) my white blood cell count keeps increasing so they are going to keep doing blood tests and checking it. If it keeps going up, they will want to run tests to see what could be going on. We are hoping that Ill be able to eat, I am trying, but as weird as this is, eating is hard!

Things have just been quiet here. We haven't really done much, especially since I get into bed at about 7 o'clock! I feel bad for poor Ethan, I'm tired, cranky, and moody and we can't go out. Friends are having parties, going out, we even got invited to a movie screening, but can't go... sigh! Eth says it's ok, he's a home body. Someday I'll feel better and we'll have fun again! :)

Anyway, that's life. I know this isn't the most fun blog, but hopefully it will get better (and me too!). We love you all.

Hi Family and Friends... ok so we're not dead... it's been a very crazy couple of months! As you read you'll see why...

Well... We did have Joyce and her hubby come visit. It was fun to see her after so long. She hasn't changed much, she is still hillarious! Sadly we could only hang out for one evening and they were exhausted from driving and family stuff. But a drowsy Joyce is even more fun.

Funny story... there is an extremely cute and very smart 6 year old we know at church. We usually sit behind their family and they provide good entertainment, sometimes she'll crawl under the pew and come see us. She is already a really good reader, in a fix we can rely on her to read scriptures in Primary! I said she was smart! So Ethan likes to write her notes to make her giggle during sacrament meeting. Please enjoy our last note conversation. I think she had some help from her mom putting us in our place! :)

So it's back to school... sigh... School for me is same old same old. Big classes, some good kids, some bad kids. I think I need to give them a little more time. Ethan is in the clinic twice a week seeing patients. He's doing pretty well. I went to go see him. But the funny thing is you can't call them doctors yet, they are "interns." The school recently had what is called the white coat ceremony. They have a few speakers talk about what wonderful things they are doing and they should be commended for making it this far. They called up all the "future doctors" (a term they used quite frequently) and put their offical white "future doctor" coats on them and gave us a semi-good dinner. The annoying thing was the stage was really dark, so I along with all the other wives couldn't get any really good pics, so here's what I got.

Ethan and I did celebrate birthdays. I'm now 26 and Eth is 27. Are we old farts yet!? Ethan did trick me pretty good on my birthday. We promised each other nothing too big for birthdays. But on my birthday he said, I was naughty, I bought you something... so when we had a few close friends over for cake Ethan walked out with a Mac store bag. I opened the bag and there was an iphone box in there! I kept saying, no you didn't! Which he didn't, there were chocolates inside of the empty box. Our friends with iphones gave him the box to use. (BTW we are taking cash donations so that we can buy iphones! So come christmas we'll be real easy no shopping necessary!)

Recently my parents did come for a visit. We weren't able to do too much, which I'll explain why later. But they did enjoy Knott's berry farm chicken dinner and they were very kind and help clean our apt. Family is so nice. While my parents were here, Ethan hiked Mt. Baldy with Walter and the 10-14 year old scouts. You'll have to talk with him about the bad, but funny things the scouts would do... puking, harrassing the asian hikers, and even the scout that wore his brand new white shoes to hike and was upset the whole time cause his shoes were getting dirty!

Well, if you've read this far, you must truely love us, so you get the best news of the whole blog. I am pregnant, yes, finally Ethan and I are pregnant. Baby Zmoos is due May 16th. We've been talking about baby names for forever. We are pretty set on names, if it is a girl... Madeline Rae Zmoos or if a boy Timothy Ethan Zmoos. But who knows... they could change! Grandma Zmoos commented, Congrats, it only took you 3 years to figure it out! :) Right now I'm 9 weeks along and in the middle of all day nausea, heart burn, fatigue, and excess salivation! GROSS!!! I feel so bad for Ethan and my students. It's not a matter of when I feel sick, it's more like what degree of sickness do I feel. "Luckily" I can make it through the school day ok, my student's know not to mess with me. They ask me everyday, how are you feeling!? By the time 4 or 5 o'clock hits, I'm a mess. I barely even talk. I just try to not throw up. I maybe say 8 sentences to Ethan and sadly it is usually asking him to get me water, a bowl, or ginger ale. He is so nice and wonderful. As I lay in bed trying to relax enough to sleep he reads me Harry Potter, which has been really helpful. I don't know what I'd do with out him. We have been so desperate for relief I went to the clinic for acupuncture. The doctor didn't poke me with any needles, he does like to put pins in pregnant women! So I got some herbals and I wear these little acupressure band aid things. I have noticed I feel a lot better in the morning, the evenings are still bad, but better, I have been dry heaving less. We are counting down the days until the first trimester is over and praying that my nausea will clear up after that. Now... even though I feel like crap, we are very happy and excited to be pregnant. Enjoy our babies first pics.

Hello Family and Friends!!! I hope all is well and that everyone has had a good summer! It's almost back to school time. Summer flew by so fast, I can't believe it. I'm still not ready to go back to school for my last year. I got my schedule. I teach 4 regular biology classes and 1 AP class. We'll see how that goes. Ethan is getting ready for his 7th term and working in the clinic. He still has a full load of classes to take along with being in the clinic twice a week. He has to dress in a shirt and tie and wear a white coat! He's sure going to look like a doctor, but I think that's about as close as he gets for now ... just looking like a doctor!

The past week has been pretty crazy and fun. Ethan's family came for a visit. We went down to Carlsbad for a few days. We got to go to the beach, visit family, go to surf shops and see La Jolla. In La Jolla we went to the Birch Aquarium. It was really cool. They had a little news room where you could record "news stories" about environmental issues. As you can see in some of our pics, We didn't take it seriously and just goofed off in front of the camera. We even ate at Marie Calendar pies and ate them on the beach! It was all very pretty. Here are some pics. The hotel we stayed at was nice, except the air conditioner was leaking and making a horrible dripping noise that kept Ethan's mom up at night. But the hotel felt bad and she negotiated a free weekend stay for us! Thanks mom!

After Carlsbad we came back to the lovely Buena Park where we had a BBQ with some of our closest friends, so they could meet Eth's family, and eat pie!!! Heather and I "helped" Karen make 2 apple pies and a cherry pie for everyone. Karen did most of the work, I don't like pie and didn't have any but from what I hear the pies were delicious. Thank you to the Reddings for letting us come in and destroy your home making pies and having 12 people at your place. You are awesome!!!

We then went to Knott's Berry Farm. It was sure hot, but it was bearable. We rode on some great rides, saw some not so great shows :), and ate pie and their famous fried chicken. If you haven't noticed, the Zmoos' like pie!!! Anyway, even Karen went on 2 roller coasters. The last one Silver Bullet did her in for the day. Check her out in the picture!

On our last Vaca day we went to Huntington beach. It was a perfect beach day. All the boys (even dad) went body boarding. Thanks to the Reddings and the Olsens for lending us body boards! I got a few sweet rides in as well. We also saw dolphins, which was awesome, but we didn't get any pics of them. A little boy I was body boarding next too was so cute, he was helping me pick out just the right waves, he said he was a professional body boarder! After the beach we went to Sagan, a Korean restaurant for dinner. Mike got to practice his Korean and boy did we eat. It was very delicious and very hard on a few of our digestive tracts later on! Unfortunately no pie!!!

Thank you to Karen and Mike for a wonderful week, we hope you had as much fun as we did. We love you all!

Hello Family and Friends,

I just wasted to let you all know that all is well here in So Cal. Ethan is finally on vacation and we are both very happy!!! On Monday his family comes out for a visit so I'll have some good stories and fun picks next week.

Ethan and I did baby sit for the Olsen's when they went to a Faith Hill and Tim McGraw concert. It was good. Ethan got to feed her and I "got" to change the diapers. I don't know if that was a fair deal, but whatever works! These pictures are my evidence that Ethan is as excited as I am to have kids (he doesn't like to admit it though)!

I think we did pretty well for the 6 hours we were in charge.

Other fun news, we got tickets to see Cirque du Soleil on our anniversary. We are going with the Reddings and Robert hooked us up with great seats! Yea!!!!

I do have to start back to work! Sigh, it was a very nice summer! I've got meetings the last week of august and school starts Sept 4th.

Well, if you didn't know, I went to Iowa for a week and abandoned Ethan while he took his I.C.E. Exams. Iowa was great. My favorite thing was going to go see houses and talking with the private bankers. It helped me put together a plan of what we need to do over the next year to get into a house!!!! It looks like we are going to be able to afford a new construction ranch home with an unfinished basement. I showed Ethan the pictures of the style of homes being built and here are a couple of the ones we liked.

Other things I did . . . oh, we went to the country club and did water aerobics! It was so funny. Karen's friends are hillarious. I think the funniest thing was we got noodles and sat on them and paddled on them a little bit. The instructor called it riding your horsey... ride your horsey down the length of the pool and back!

Of course we saw movies and went shopping. Ann Taylor Loft has a ginormous sale and I got some really beautiful clothes. I did also get my hair cut, but didn't take any pictures of it, so I'll have to post that later, but it's really cute!!! What else, oh, Grandma Zmoos had a bunch of pictures of Ethan when he was little and put it together in a quick scrapbook. Nothing too fancy, but Ethan really liked it. I got one to put our wedding pictures in, so I'll have a project to work on. One of the other cool things we did, was Karen and I went to a fancy pants resturant. I had duck for the first time, it was pretty good, it was cool to see and eat off one of the pretty plates you see on TV or in the movies. Here's a picture of my duck!

Oh, and I saw this sign, you know you're in Iowa when ...

But, while I loved Iowa, I did miss Ethan. Apparently during his week long study session, he didn't eat a real meal and just snacked and he lost weight! Not healthy I know, but still! So I think he should publish a weightloss book... snack yourself thin!
Oh, I did miss my kitties and Lola. Karen bought Lola a toy so here she is playing with it. It took her all of about 2 min to rip it open and start destuffing it. She hasn't destroyed it completely yet, but she sure loves doing it!

Love you all.

Hi family and friends!

Well the baby totals have increased!!! Walter and Rachel had their beautiful little Girl Rebecca Elizabeth Olsen, on Sunday morning (3 mons to the day after Rex!). Rachel is doing well. She is crazy, she made it through almost 40 hours of labor, 2 hours of pushing, and NO epidural. She my be my hero. Well, when we finally have a kid, I don't think I'll be able to make it with out an epidural! Here's a couple of pics I took, she has cuter ones on her website.

Well, sad news, our Disneyland passes expired!!! Sigh, we had to say goodbye to the Happiest Place on Earth!!!! Here are some pics. We got to go on the new Nemo ride. It was cool. It was a good day, we went on all of our favorites, ate our last Disney breakfast, saythe golden horse shoe review, and Rex kept us entertained during waits in line. Since we had a baby with us, we got to do the baby pass thing, which is AWESOME. You ride the ride while one person stays behind with the baby, then after your group goes through, one person gets to cut line with whoever stayed behind with the baby and rides the ride again right away! I got to ride my favorite ride, Space Mountian, 2 times in a row!!! The only thing was it was sure hot, but in California Adventure Eth found a place to cool off. Disney is great!

As summer keeps chugging along, I'm about to be on my way to Iowa to visit Eth's family. I'm sad Eth can't come but he has ICE exams next week. These mimic the National Board Exams he has to take later on in the year so that he can prepare. It's important that he does well, or else they could hold him back at school. So I get a week of playing and he gets a week of studying, that seems fair, right!?

Oh, since I've been talking about all of my friends to other people and telling stories, I thought I'd post everyones blog addresses, so you can learn more about the friends I know and talk about. If you know of anyone elses blog, send it to me!!!

Love you guys!

Hello again family and friends. Well, it looks like another month has flown by!

School ended for me on the 21st. I got the lovely duty of collecting sweaty, stinky caps and gowns from the graduates and putting them in boxes, it was a "lovely" two and a half hours in a non-airconditioned room!

I decided not to do summer school for my own personal sanity. I did however sign up to be a sub. I have subbed 4 times for the same math teacher. I've been with his classes more than he has this summer! One of his classes were really bad, I mean, terrors!!! They would not stop talking. I had to tell them to physically close their mouths so we could have quiet in the class room. They were so bad for the last 40 min of class one day I had them sit in silence and do work out of biology books, by the way, it's a math class!!! Freshmen!

I've been keeping myself busy by going back to the gym, doing projects around the house, reading books, and preparing for next year. Hopefully my last year of teaching next year will be a good one. The school asked me to teach a 6/5 schedule, so I teach 6 classes and don't have a prep period. After taxes it's about a $1000 extra dollars a month. Eth and I talked about it, and I decided not to take it. While some of you may think I'm crazy . . . those prep periods are so valuable if I didn't have it, I would have to do all my copying, preparing, and lab setup before and after school and with AP biology that is a lot of work. So once again for my sanity, we decided not to do it.
School is going pretty well for Eth. It seems like every week he has a test or a quiz, he's a busy boy. But he's still liking it. He's actually studying right now, apparently he's a little annoyed at the weird names of his x-ray deformities (which are named after patients) like Lanois Deformity the fibular deviation of the toes.

Well, other news . . . more and more of my friends are having babies, I've literally lost count. I think I know of about 15 people who have had babies and I know of at least 5 more babies on the way. Man, there must be something in the water! ALSO.... Eth's little brother Zach is now in the MTC studying away to head out to the Denver South Mission. We are very proud of him.

Fun things. . . recently Eth and I got to see Dave and Dianna, and Melissa in San Diego, but not at the same time. So in 1 week we drove to San Diego twice. We did get to see some fun stuff and it was good to spend time with family. We went to the Zoo (I fed a giraffe!), saw the navy ships, went to Coronado (got awfully sunburned), saw a Dr. Seuess museum, fireworks, etc. Pretty eventful. Here are some pics.

Oh, and some people have asked about Lola. She is doing well here's a pic.

Well, we love you all and hope all is well. Keep us posted on your lives!

Tuesday, June 19, 2007

Hello family and friends, I hope all is well. Things here are pretty good. There are only 2 more half days of school left and I'm excited. This summer will be a much needed break. Many of my former students have been coming in and saying how sorry they are that my classroom got broken into. One of my old students heard of my trials and brought be this...

a tie-dyed, rainbow cross lollipop. I like lollipops and all, but this just seems wrong!!!

Even though we've been busy with school, we have still have time for fun. Recently we went to the beach with the Olsens and some other friends from school. It was a perfect day.

Also, since we've been doing Dream Dinners, it's so easy to cook meals, we've been having more friends over for dinner. We had the Reddings and the Olsens over the other day. Apparently, Walter and Rex were really tired.

That's about all that's going on, we'll keep you posted on life. We love you all!
